
The year 2026 will include 12 public holidays in Catalonia, to which local councils add two local holidays.
The following will be public holidays in Catalonia during 2026:
- January 1 (Thursday), New Year’s Eve.
- January 6 (Tuesday), Epiphany.
- April 3 (Friday), Good Friday.
- April 6 (Monday), Easter.
- May 1 (Friday), Labor Day.
- June 24 (Wednesday), Saint John’s Day.
- August 15 (Saturday), Assumption of Mary.
- September 11 (Friday), National Day of Catalonia.
- October 12 (Monday), National Day of Spain.
- December 8 (Tuesday), Immaculate Conception.
- December 25 (Friday), Christmas Day.
- December 26 (Saturday), Saint Stephen’s Day.
These twelve holidays are paid and non-working days.
Each municipality will also include two additional local holidays. The local holidays in the city of Barcelona for 2026 are:
- May 25 (Monday)
- September 24 (Thursday)
